About Tuskegee University

Bill 165 July 4, 1881, authorized the founding date, $2000 but no land or building. From 30 adult students Tuskegee University today educates over 3,000 students on a sprawling campus, with over 100 buildings in more than 5,500 acres. Tuskegee University is testimony to the human spirit of its founder Booker T. Washington, and followers who persevered against all odds. You will be pleasantly surprise at what we have accomplished, tucked away in the heart of Alabama Black Belt Region of USA (http://www.tuskegee.edu). Tuskegee University is a beautiful campus with impressive buildings, and strong academic programs and services. The G.W. Carver museum exhibits many of the educational tools used by Dr. Carver and is locate adjacent to the Conference Center. The Veterinary School: Part of the College of Veterinary Medicine Nursing and Allied Health (CVMNAH), is the only Historic Black College or University to offer a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (http://www.onemedicine.tuskegee.edu) graduating 75% of the black veterinarians in the US. The veterinary program carries the same professional accreditation as all of the other veterinary schools in the country.
